My favorite chapter in World History was Medieval Europe. I liked this chapter because I thought it was interesting to see where Vikings came from. I have always heard of them, but never truly understood what they did. Also, I liked learning about the early rulers, like Charlemagne.
I learned a lot about Charlemagne’s journey into leadership. It all started when his father, Pepin III, died in 768. He and his brother took over the kingdom together. His brother died in 771, making Charlemagne the ruler of the Franks. In 800, he was crowned emperor of the Roman Empire by Pope Leo III. People attending the mass stated: “To Charles Augustus, crowned by God, great and peace-giving Emperor…” I also learned he was 6’4”. There also was a project. It was a web-quest on lesson 3.
New skills I learned throughout the year are cooperating with other kids during partner projects, responsibility, and problem solving skills.
Throughout my life I will use these skills because if I do, I will be better off. I can go to college and get a job if I stick to these skills.
